My work is created using manipulated photographic imagery transferred
onto multiple surfaces. The images are manipulated digitally and are
transferred by a manual process of gluing and scrubbing. The resulting
images have an expressive quality inherited through the process of
their creation.
An interest in photographs and their potential to influence memory
inspires my work. The images I work with tell important stories from
my life, and attempt to
communicate their emotional imprint on my understanding of the human
condition.
The physical act of creating and transferring the images onto a surface
has taken on a metaphorical quality of resurrection. The damage created
by the transfer process has become beautiful. Time and emotion become
a tangible aesthetic element.
