My paintings
are created out of need to express thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Houses and churches grounded in the landscape are the vehicles for
developing a visual vocabulary.
The unnatural color, exaggerated shapes and distorted space emphasize
that the paintings are products of feelings and memory. The paintings
develop intuitively through a process involving layers of charcoal, oil
paint and oil sticks. As a result of painting the same theme repeatedly
the subjects have become personal icons.
