Born in 1953 in

I am amazed with the photograph. In photography I am the creator, but
I am also an outsider, a spectator. As simultaneously spectator and
creator, I witness and capture the perspective, moment, or subject
which makes the real surreal. I sometimes layer my images to create
photomontage, their combinations demonstrating the complexities of
the subject. My application of oil color to the black and white photographs
is also surrealistic in nature.
In realizing a photograph I search for a meaning that the spectator
can bring to the photograph, hoping he connects with it on a deep and
personal level of consciousness. Roland Barthes states "Of course
I could make out in photography a whole network of essences, material...regional...but
I branched off; instead of following the path of a formal ontology
(of a logic), I stopped, keeping with me, like a treasure, my desire
or my grief. As spectator... I wanted to explore it not as a question
(a theme) but as a wound: I see, I feel, hence I notice, I observe,
and I think. "
