I have been working with the idea of place for the past couple of years. I am interested in the formal aesthetic qualities of light and space and the more emotive qualities of memory and sense. I am particularly interested in translating my own experience at the location and articulating the feeling to the viewer. Recently, I have begun adding myself into the frame with a symbolic stuffed rabbit from my childhood; dealing with issues of innocence, loss, and change.

I will further explore these issues and present this body of work at my MFA show at the Art Museum at the University of Memphis this Spring.
