at finding things at thrift stores
i never find cool things like
fish lights
skull lights
elephant lights
or
bunny lights
hell
i dont know
if there even lights at all
me
being the great writer i am
i did absolutely no research
when i have talked to ian lately
it has really only been about the hurricanes
go canes
anyways
at the thrift stores
i only find things like
broken umbrellas
half eaten sandwiches
and old vhs tapes
with the nudity scenes
the nudity scenes
i bought the tape for
blacked out
what is up with that
anyways
ian lemmonds show
is the best yet
at this new gallery
who has
by the way
the cleanest
the smoothest
the greatest white walls
i have ever seen
and my favorite piece in the show
the untitled c print
(same title and process as the other seven pieces)
with a horse
on a window ledge
this image just jumps off the wall
i think i like this piece
because it feels
out of place
from the rest of the work
not because
of the theme or content
because of color
since i fancy myself a colorist
this is something i can say
the rest of the work is darker
brighter
more intense
all at the same time
the particular print of discussion
is more calming
and soothing to me
but what do i know
i do know
i liked the show
which have been nothing like
the last several shows
i have seen of ians
at material
at the medicine factory
i keep forgetting to ask
how in the hell
did he get those spoons
in the walls
anyways
the show

is up until june 30
you can also see
a couple of pieces by
david comstock
who just happens to have
a van full of art
every time
he goes to a gallery
maybe i need a van full of art
so i can get a show
anyways
